A project can be completed by 12 men in 28 days and 16 women in 36 days. 12 men and 16 women work together to complete half of the work and then leave. If the remaining work is completed by 16 women, in how many days was the entire project completed?

Work done by 12 men and 16 women in 1 day $=\frac{1}{28}+\frac{1}{36}=\frac{9+7}{252}=\frac{16}{252}$ $=\frac{4}{63}$
$\therefore$ Time taken by them in doing whole work $=\frac{63}{4}$ days
$\therefore$ Time taken in doing half of the work $=\frac{63}{8}$ days
Time taken by 16 women in doing the remaining work $=18$ days
$\therefore$ Required time $=\frac{63}{8}+18$ $=\frac{63+144}{8}=\frac{207}{8}$ $=25 \frac{7}{8}$ days
