36 women can do a work in $x$ days and 30 men can do the same work in $(x-4)$ days. The ratio of work done by 10 men and 12 women in the same time is 2 $: 1$. What is the value of $x$ ?

36 women $\Rightarrow x$ days

1 woman $\Rightarrow 36 x$ days

12 women $\Rightarrow \frac{36 x}{12}=3 x$ days

30 men $\Rightarrow(x-4)$ days

1 man $\Rightarrow 30(x-4)$ days

10 men $\Rightarrow \frac{30(x-4)}{10}$ $=3(x-4)$ days

$\therefore \frac{\frac{1}{3(x-4)}}{\frac{1}{3 x}}=\frac{2}{1}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{x}{x-4}=2$

$\Rightarrow 2 x-8=x$

$\Rightarrow x=8$
