The ratio of work done by 20 men to work done by 30 women in same time is $8: 5$. If 10 men and 18 women can do a work in 12 days, how many men would be required to finish it in 14 days

$\frac{20 \hspace{1mm} men}{30 \hspace{1mm} women}=\frac{8}{5}$
$\Rightarrow 1 woman=\frac{2}{3} \times \frac{5}{8} men=\frac{5}{12} men $
$\Rightarrow 10 men+18 women$ $=10 men+18 \times \frac{5}{12} men$ $=\left(10+\frac{15}{2}\right) men=\frac{35}{2}$ men
Number of men required to finish the work in 14 days $=\frac{35}{2} \times \frac{12}{14}=15 men$
