The respective ratio between the present age of Ram and Rakesh is $6: 11$. Four years ago the ratio of their age was $1: 2$ respectively. What will be Rakesh’s age after five years?

Let Ram’s present age be $6 x$ years and that of Rakesh be $11 x$ years.
Four years ago,
$\frac{6 x-4}{11 x-4}=\frac{1}{2} $
$\Rightarrow 12 x-8=11 x-4 $
$\Rightarrow x=8-4=4$
$\therefore$ Rakesh’s age after five years $=11 x+5$ $=11 \times 4+5=49$ years
