Correct Answer: (2)

Solution: (2)

Quantity of apple juice $=4 x$ litres

Quantity of grape juice $=12 x$ litres

On adding 2 litres of apple juice,

$\frac{4 x+2}{12 x}=\frac{3}{8}$

$\Rightarrow 36 x=32 x+16$ $

$\Rightarrow 36 x-32 x=16$

$\Rightarrow 4 x=16 $

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{16}{4}=4$

$\therefore$ Quantity of juice in the vessel initially $=4 x+12 x+15 x$ $=31 x$ litres $=31 \times 4=124$ litres

On taking out 42 litres of mixture,

Reamining quantity of mixture of juices in the vessel $=124-42$ $=82$ litres
