Answer: (3)

Solution: (3)

Three consecutive even integers $=x, x+2$ and $x+4$

Four consecutive odd integers $=y, y+2, y+4$ and $y+6$

According to the question,

$\frac{x+x+2+x+4}{3}-\frac{y+y+2+y+4+y+6}{4}$ $=10$

$\Rightarrow \frac{3 x+6}{3}-\frac{4 y+12}{4}=10$

$\Rightarrow x+2-y-3=10$

$\Rightarrow x-y=11 \ldots .$. (i)

Again, $x+2+y+4=27$

$\Rightarrow x+y=27-6=21 \ldots$. (ii)

By equation (ii)-(i) we have,

$x+y-x+y=21-11$

$\Rightarrow 2 y=10 \Rightarrow y=5$
