(1) $18(4+\sqrt{3})$
(2) $16(4+\sqrt{3})$
(3) $8(4+\sqrt{3})$

Show Answer
Correct Answer: (2)
Solution: (2)
Area of $\triangle ABC=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{4} \times \operatorname{side}^{2}$
$=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{4} \times 8 \times 8=16 \sqrt{3}$ sq. cm.
Area of square BDEC $=8 \times 8$ $=64 sq$. $cm$.
$\therefore$ Area of pentagon ABDEC $=(64+16 \sqrt{3})$ sq. cm.
$=16(4+\sqrt{3})$ sq. cm.
