Equations And Inequations Ques 30

I. $\frac{(3)^{5}+(7)^{3}}{3}=x^{3}$

II. $7 y^{3}=-(15 \times 2)+17 y^{3}$

Directions : In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and give answer

(1) if $x>y$

(2) if $x \geq y$

(3) if $x<y$

(4) if $x<y$

(5) if $x=y$ or the relationship cannot be established

Show Answer

Correct Answer: (1)

Solution: (1) I. $\frac{243+343}{3}=x^{3}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{586}{3}=x^{3}$

II. $7 y^{3}=-30+17 y^{3}$

$\Rightarrow 10 y^{3}=30 \Rightarrow y^{3}=3$
