Correct Answer: 29.(1)

Solution: (1) I. $x^{2}+6 x+8=0$

$\Rightarrow x^{2}+4 x+2 x+8=0$

$\Rightarrow x(x+4)+2(x+4)=0$

$\Rightarrow(x+2)(x+4)=0$

$\Rightarrow x=-2$ or, -4

II. $2 y^{2}+5 y+3=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 y^{2}+2 y+3 y+3=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 y(y+1)+3(y+1)=0$

$\Rightarrow(2 y+3)(y+1)=0$

$\Rightarrow y=\frac{-3}{2}$ or -1

Clearly, $x<y$
