Correct Answer: (2)
Solution: (2) I. $x^{2}-6 x-7=0$
$\Rightarrow x^{2}-7 x+x-7=0$
$\Rightarrow x(x-7)+1(x-7)=0$
$\Rightarrow(x+1)(x-7)=0$
$\Rightarrow x=-1$ or 7
II. $2 y^{2}+13 y+15=0$
$\Rightarrow 2 y^{2}+10 y+3 y+15=0$
$\Rightarrow 2 y(y+5)+3(y+5)=0$
$\Rightarrow(y+5)(2 y+3)=0$
$\Rightarrow y=-5$ or $-\frac{3}{2}$
Clearly, $x>y$
