Solution: (3) I. $9 x^{2}+32 x+15=0$

$\Rightarrow 9 x^{2}+27 x+5 x+15=0$

$\Rightarrow 9 x(x+3)+5(x+3)=0$

$\Rightarrow(9 x+5)(x+3)=0$

$\Rightarrow x=-3$ or $x=-\frac{5}{9}$ or $x=-0.55$

II. $4 y^{2}-17 y-42=0$

$\Rightarrow 4 y^{2}-24 y+7 y-42=0$

$\Rightarrow 4 y(y-6)+7(y-6)=0$

$\Rightarrow(4 y+7)(y-6)=0$

$\Rightarrow y=6$ or $-\frac{7}{4}\neq6$ or -1.75
