Solution: (5) I. $3 x^{2}+20 x+25=0$
$\Rightarrow x(3 x+5)+5(3 x+5)=0$
$\Rightarrow(x+5)(3 x+5)=0$
$\Rightarrow x=-5$ or -1.67
II. $3 y^{2}+18 y+24=0$
$\Rightarrow y^{2}+6 y+8=0$
$\Rightarrow y^{2}+4 y+2 y+8=0$
$\Rightarrow y(y+4)+2(y+4)=0$
$\Rightarrow(y+2)(y+4)=0$
$\Rightarrow y=-2$ or -4
