Equations And Inequations Ques 118
I. $x^{3}-468=1729$
II. $y^{2}-1733+1564=0$
Directions : In the following questions, two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and give answer If
(1) $x>y$
(2) $x \geq y$
(3) $x<y$
(4) $x \leq y$
(5) $\quad x=y$ or the relationship cannot be established

Correct Answer: (2)
Solution: (2) I. $x^{3}=1729+468=2197$
$$ \therefore x=\sqrt[3]{2197}=13 $$
II. $y^{2}=1733-1564=169$
$$ \therefore y=\sqrt{169}= \pm 13 $$
Clearly, $x \geq y$
