Equations And Inequations Ques 105
I. $\frac{13}{\sqrt{x}}+\frac{9}{\sqrt{x}}=\frac{22}{\sqrt{x}}$
II. $y^{4}-\frac{(13 \times 2)^{\frac{9}{2}}}{\sqrt{y}}=0$
Directions : In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and give answer. If
(1) $x>y$
(2) $x \geq y$
(3) $x<y$
(4) $x \leq y$
(5) $x=y$ or the relationship cannot be established

Correct Answer: 3
Solution: (3) I. $\frac{13}{\sqrt{x}}+\frac{9}{\sqrt{x}}=\frac{22}{\sqrt{x}}$
$\Rightarrow 13+9=\sqrt{x} \times \sqrt{x}=13+9$
$\Rightarrow x=22$
II. $y^{4}-\frac{(26)^{\frac{9}{2}}}{\sqrt{y}}=0$
$\Rightarrow(y)^{\frac{9}{2}}=(26)^{\frac{9}{2}} \Rightarrow y=26$
