Directions : Each of the questions given below consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and
(IBPS Specialist Officer (IT) CWE 14.02.2016)
Give answer (1) if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (2) if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
In how many days can 6 men and 5 women complete a work working together?
Statements :
I. The ratio of efficiency of man to woman is $1: 2$.
II. 9 women can complete three-fifth of the work in 15 days.
III. 6 men and a child together can complete $\frac{1}{4}$ th work in 12 days while 6 women and the child together can complete two-third of the work in 16 days.
(1) I and II or III
(2) Any of the two statements
(3) Only I and II
(4) All I, II, and III
(5) None of these
Show Answer
Correct Answer: 47. (3)
Solution: 47. (3) From statement III,
Diagonal of square $=$ Diameter of circular field
$\therefore$ Side of square $=\sqrt{2450}$
$=\sqrt{1225 \times 2}=35 \sqrt{2} \mathrm{~cm}$.
$\therefore$ Diagonal of square is $s\sqrt{2}$
$=\sqrt{2} \times 35 \sqrt{2}=70 \mathrm{~cm}$.
$\therefore$ Area of the circular field.
$=\frac{22}{7} \times 35 \times 35$
$=3850$ sq.cm. From statement II,
Side of square $=\sqrt{4900}$
$=70 \mathrm{~cm}$. = diameter of circle
$\therefore$ Area of circular field is $\pi r^2$
$=\frac{22}{7} \times 35 \times 35=3850$ sq. cm.
