A and B take both the work 1 and 2 together. Both A and B work on work 1 and 2 on alternative days. If work 1 is taken on the 1st day, then on which day work 2 will be completed?

Solution: (ii)
For work 1,
(A+B)’s 1 day’s work work $=\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{2}=\frac{5}{6}$
$\therefore$ Time taken $=\frac{6}{5}$ days $=1$ day and 12 hours
For work II,
(A+B)’s 1 day’s work $=\frac{1}{5}+\frac{1}{5}=\frac{2}{5}$
$\therefore$ Time taken $=\frac{5}{2}$ days $=2$ days and 12 hours
Total = 3 days 7 hours.
Since
Work 2 is done in 2nd order, the last day (4th day) will be dedicated to work 2
