The time taken by 24 children to complete a project is twice the time taken by 16 women to complete the same project. If 28 women complete the project in 8 days, how many days will 28 women and 24 children together take to complete the project?

According to the question,
48 Children $\equiv 16$ women
$\Rightarrow 3$ children $\equiv 1$ woman
$\therefore 28$ women +24 children $\equiv(28+8)$ women $\equiv 36$ women
$\therefore M_{1} D_{1}=M_{2} D_{2}$
$\Rightarrow 28 \times 8=36 \times D_{2}$
$\Rightarrow D_{2}=\frac{28 \times 8}{36}=\frac{56}{9}$ days $=6 \frac{2}{9}$ day
