The cost of five chairs and three tables is ₹ 3,110 . Cost of one chair is ₹ 210 less than cost of one table. What is the cost of two tables and two chairs?

Solution: (1)
If the C.P. of 1 chair be $ \text{₹} x$, then C.P. of 1 table $= \text{₹} (x+210)$
$\therefore 5 x+3(x+210)=3110$
$\Rightarrow 5 x+3 x+630=3110$
$\Rightarrow 8 x=3110-630=2480$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{2480}{8}=310$
$\therefore$ CP of two tables and two chairs
$=2(x+x+210)=4 x+420$
$=4 \times 310+420= \text{₹} 1660$
