Correct Answer: (2)

Solution: (2)

A’s investment = Rs. $x$

B’s investment $=$ Rs. $(4000-x)$

S.I. $=\frac{\text { Principal } \times \text { Time } \times \text { Rate }}{100}$

According to the question,

$\frac{x \times 5 \times 2}{100} $ $= \frac{(4000-x) \times 3 \times 2}{100} $

$\Rightarrow 5 x=12000-3 x $

$\Rightarrow 8 x=12000 $

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{12000}{8}=\text { Rs. } 1500$
