The respective ratio between $52 \%$ of $x$ and $30\%$ of $y$ is $12: 5$. If $x$ is 50 more than $y$, what is the value of $2 x+y$ ?

According to the question,

$x-y=50 \ldots \ldots$ (i)

Again, $\frac{\frac{52 x}{100}}{\frac{30 y}{100}}=\frac{12}{5}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{52 x}{30 y}=\frac{12}{5} $

$\Rightarrow \frac{13 x}{6 y}=3$

$\Rightarrow 13 x=18 y$

$\Rightarrow 13(y+50)=18 y$

$\Rightarrow 18 y-13 y=13 \times 50$

$\Rightarrow 5 y=13 \times 50$

$\Rightarrow y=130$

$\therefore x=130+50=180$

$\therefore 2 x+y=2 \times 180+130$ $=360+130=490$
