Correct Answer: (2)
Solution: (2)
Neil’s monthly salary $=$ Rs. $5 x$ Dipti’s monthly salary $=$ Rs. $6 x$
Neil’s savings $=\frac{5 x \times 40}{100}$ $=$ Rs. $2 x$
Dipti’s savings $=\frac{6 x \times 25}{100}=$ Rs. $\frac{3 x}{2}$
According to the question,
Neil’s investment - Dipti’s investment $=1750$
$\Rightarrow 2 x \times \frac{5}{8}-\frac{3 x}{2} \times \frac{3}{5}=1750$
$\Rightarrow \frac{5 x}{4}-\frac{9 x}{10}=1750$
$\Rightarrow \frac{25 x-18 x}{20}=1750$
$\Rightarrow 7 x=1750 \times 20$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{1750 \times 20}{7}=5000$
$\therefore$ Neil’s monthly salary $=$ Rs. $5 x=$ Rs. 25000
