Correct Answer: (4)

Solution: (4)

Total possible outcomes $=$ selection of 2 eggs out of 24 eggs

$ =\frac{24 \times 23}{1 \times 2}=276 $

Total favourable outcomes $=$ Selection of 1 egg out of 16 good eggs and that of 1 egg out of 8 rotten eggs $={ }^{16} C_{1} \times{ }^{8} C_{1}$ $=16 \times 8=128$

$\therefore$ Required probability $=\frac{128}{276}$ $=\frac{32}{69}$
