- Quantity I : Pipe A can fill a reservoir in 5 hours, pipe $B$ in 10 hours and pipe $C$ in 30 hours. If all the pipes are open, in how many hours will the tank be filled
Quantity II : 10
Show Answer
Correct Answer: 97. (2)
Solution: 97. (2) Quantity I:
Part of tank filled in 1 hour by all the pipes $=\frac{1}{5}+\frac{1}{10}+\frac{1}{30}$
$=\frac{6+3+1}{30}=\frac{10}{30}=\frac{1}{3}$
$\therefore$ Required time $=3$ hours
Clearly,
quantity I $<$ quantity II
