- Quantity 1: Sachin had 10 paisa, 25 paisa and 50 paisa coins in the ratio of 10:8:9 respectively. After giving Rs. 20 to his mother he had Rs.40. How many 50 paisa coins did he have?
Quantity 2: Value of $x+(x \div 2)$, where $(786 \times 74) \div x=1211.75$
Show Answer
Correct Answer: 88. (5)
Solution: 88. (5) Quantity - 1 :
$(10 \times 0.10 y)+(8 \times 0.25 y)+(9 \times$ $0.50 y)=60$
$\Rightarrow y+2 y+4.5 y=60$
$\Rightarrow 7.5 y=60 \Rightarrow y=\frac{60}{7.5}=8$
$\therefore$ Number of 50 paisa coins
$=9 \times 8=72$
Quantity - 2 :
$(786 \times 74) \div x=1211.75$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{786 \times 74}{1211.75}$
$\Rightarrow x=48$
As per the question
$x+(x \div 2)=48+\left(\frac{48}{2}\right)$
$=72$
