- A man while riding his bike sees a bus 60 metres ahead of him. The speed of the bike is $38$ $ km /$ $h$ and after 30 seconds the bus is 90 metres behind him. What is the speed of the bus?

Correct Answer: 85. (2)
Solution: 85. (2) Relative speed of bike
$=\frac{(60+90)}{30}=5$ metre $/$ second
$=\left(5 \times \frac{18}{5}\right)$ $ \mathrm{kmph}=18 $ $\mathrm{kmph}$
Relative speed $=$ speed of bike speed of bus
$\Rightarrow 18=38$ - speed of bus
$\Rightarrow$ Speed of bus $=38-18$
$=20$ $ \mathrm{km} / \mathrm{h}$
