- Mohan distributed his assets to his wife, four sons, three daughters and six grandchildren in such a way that each grandchild got one sixteenth of each son and one-tenth of each daughter. His wife got $60 \%$ of the total share of his sons and daughters together. If each daughter receives assets of worth Rs. 1.25 lakh, what is the share of his wife? (In Rs.)

Solution: 75. (1) Worth of assets received by each daughter $=$ Rs. 125000
Amount received by each grandchild $=$ Rs. 12500
Amount received by each son
$=$ Rs. $(12500 \times 16)$
$=$ Rs. 200000
$\therefore$ Worth of assets received by Mohan’s wife
$=(200000 \times 4+125000 \times 3) \times$ $\frac{60}{100}$
$=$ Rs. $(800000+375000) \times \frac{3}{5}$
= Rs. $\left(\frac{1175000 \times 3}{5}\right)$
$=$ Rs. 705000
