Solution: 6. (2) Rate downstream
$=\frac{20}{4}=5$ $ \mathrm{kmph}$
Rate upstream $=\frac{9}{3}=3 $ $\mathrm{kmph}$
$\therefore$ Speed of current
$=\frac{1}{2}(5-3)=1$ $ \mathrm{kmph}$
