Solution: (5) I. $x^{2}-8 x+15=0$
$\Rightarrow x^{2}-3 x-5 x+15=0$
$\Rightarrow x(x-3)-5(x-3)=0$
$\Rightarrow(x-5)(x-3)=0$
$\Rightarrow x=5$ or, 3
II. $y^{2}-11 y+28=0$
$\Rightarrow y^{2}-4 y-7 y+28=0$
$\Rightarrow y(y-4)-7(y-4)=0$
$\Rightarrow(y-4)(y-7)=0$
$\Rightarrow y=4$ or, 7
