Correct Answer: 28.(5)

Solution: (5) I. $4 x^{2}-x-68=0$

$\Rightarrow 4 x^{2}+16 x-17 x-68=0$

$\Rightarrow 4 x(x+4)-17(x+4)=0$

$\Rightarrow(x+4)(4 x-17)=0$

$\Rightarrow x=-4$ or $\frac{17}{4}$

II. $3 y^{2}+10 y+8=0$

$\Rightarrow 3 y^{2}+6 y+4 y+8=0$

$\Rightarrow 3 y(y+2)+4(y+2)=0$

$\Rightarrow(3 y+4)(y+2)=0$

$\Rightarrow y=-\frac{4}{3}$ or -2
