$\Rightarrow 3 x^{2}-4 x-9 x+12=0$
$\Rightarrow x(3 x-4)-3(3 x-4)=0$
$\Rightarrow(x-3)(3 x-4)=0$
$\Rightarrow x=3$ or, $\frac{4}{3}$
II. $2 y^{2}-15 y+28=0$
$\Rightarrow 2 y^{2}-7 y-8 y+28=0$
$\Rightarrow y(2 y-7)-4(2 y-7)=0$
$\Rightarrow(y-4)(2 y-7)=0$
$\Rightarrow y=4$ or, $\frac{7}{2}$
Clearly, $x<y$
