Correct Answer: (1)
Solution: (1) I. $12 x^{2}+17 x+6=0$
$\Rightarrow 12 x^{2}+9 x+8 x+6=0$
$\Rightarrow 3 x(4 x+3)+2(4 x+3)=0$
$\Rightarrow(4 x+3)(3 x+2)=0$
$\Rightarrow x=-\frac{3}{4}$ or $-\frac{2}{3}$
II. $6 y^{2}+5 y+1=0$
$\Rightarrow 6 y^{2}+2 y+3 y+1=0$
$\Rightarrow 2 y(3 y+1)+1(3 y+1)=0$
$\Rightarrow(3 y+1)(2 y+1)=0$
$\Rightarrow y=-\frac{1}{3}$ or $-\frac{1}{2}$
Clearly, $x<y$
