Directions : In each of the following questions, two equations are given. You have to solve these equations and give answer If

Solution: (4) I. $2 x^{2}+3 x-20=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 x^{2}+8 x-5 x-20=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 x(x+4)-5(x+4)=0$

$\Rightarrow(x+4)(2 x-5)=0$

$\Rightarrow x=-4$ or $\frac{5}{2}$

II. $2 y^{2}+19 y+44=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 y^{2}+11 y+8 y+44=0$

$\Rightarrow y(2 y+11)+4(2 y+11)=0$

$\Rightarrow(y+4)(2 y+11)=0$

$\Rightarrow y=-4$ or $-\frac{11}{2}$

Clearly, $x \geq y$
