Correct Answer: 14.(1)

Solution: (1) I. $3 x^{2}-13 x+14=0$

$\Rightarrow 3 x^{2}-6 x-7 x+14=0$

$\Rightarrow 3 x(x-2)-7(x-2)=0$

$\Rightarrow(3 x-7)(x-2)=0$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{7}{3}$ or 2

II. $2 y^{2}-5 y+3=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 y^{2}-2 y-3 y+3=0$

$\Rightarrow 2 y(y-1)-3(y-1)=0$

$\Rightarrow(y-1)(2 y-3)=0$

$\Rightarrow y=1$ or $\frac{3}{2}$

Clearly, $x>y$
