Directions : In each of these questions, two equations are given. You have to solve these equations and find out the values of $x$ and $y$ and Give answer If
(1) $x<y$
(2) $x>y$
(3) $x \leq y$
(4) $x \geq y$

Correct Answer: (3)
Solution: (3) I. $8 x^{2}+6 x-5=0$
$\Rightarrow 8 x^{2}+10 x-4 x-5=0$
$\Rightarrow 2 x(4 x+5)-1(4 x+5)=0$
$\Rightarrow(2 x-1)(4 x+5)=0$
$\therefore x=\frac{1}{2}$ or $-\frac{5}{4}$
II. $12 y^{2}-22 y+8=0$
$\Rightarrow 6 y^{2}-11 y+4=0$
$\Rightarrow 6 y^{2}-8 y-3 y+4=0$
$\Rightarrow 2 y(3 y-4)-1(3 y-4)=0$
$\Rightarrow(3 y-4)(2 y-1)=0$
$\therefore y=\frac{4}{3}$ or $\frac{1}{2}$
Clearly, $x \leq y$
