I. $\sqrt{784} x+1234=1486$

II. $\sqrt{1089} y+2081=2345$

Directions : In the following questions, two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and give answer If

(1) $x>y$

(2) $x \geq y$

(3) $x<y$

(4) $x \leq y$

(5) $\quad x=y$ or the relationship cannot be established

Correct Answer: (1)

Solution: (1) I. $\sqrt{784} x=1486-1234$

$=252$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{252}{\sqrt{784}}=\frac{252}{28}=9$

II. $\sqrt{1089} y=2345-2081$

$=264$

$\Rightarrow y=\frac{264}{\sqrt{1089}}=\frac{264}{33}=8$
