I. The cost of 12 chairs and 5 tables is ₹ 12500 .
II. The cost of 84 chairs and 35 tables is ₹ 87500 .

Solution: 36. (3) From statement I,
If the C.P. of 1 chair be $₹ x$ and that of 1 table be ₹ $y$, then,
$12 x+5 y=₹ 12500$
On multiplying by 3 ,
$36 x+15 y=₹ 37500$
From statement II,
$84 x+35 y=₹ 87500$
On dividing by 7 ,
$12 x+5 y=₹ 12500$
On multiplying by 3 ,
$36 x+15 y=₹ 37500$
