Give answer (2) if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (3) if the data in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (4) if the data in both the statements I and II are not sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (5) if the data in both the statements I and II together are necessary to answer the question.
- How many women will complete a work in 12 days?
I. Part of work done by a woman in 1 day is $\frac{3}{4}$ th of that of a man in one day.
II. 27 men can do the same work in 4 days.

Solution: 31. (5) From both statements,
$\mathrm{M}{1} \mathrm{D}{1}=\mathrm{M}{2} \mathrm{D}{2}$
$\Rightarrow 27 \times 4=\mathrm{M}_{2} \times 12$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{M}_{2}=\frac{27 \times 4}{12}=9 \mathrm{men}$
From statement I,
4 women $\equiv 3$ men
$\therefore 9$ men $\equiv 12$ women
