  1. What is the respective ratio between the length of a rectangle and side of a square?

I. Area of the square is 576 sq. $cm$. and the area of the rectangle is 600 sq.cm.

II. Breadth of the rectangle is half the side of the square.

Show Answer

Correct Answer: 14. (5)

Solution: 14. (5) From statements I and II,

Side of square $=\sqrt{576}=24 \mathrm{~cm}$

Area of rectangle $=600$

$\Rightarrow l \times b=600$

$\Rightarrow l \times 12=600$

$\Rightarrow l=50 \mathrm{~cm}$

$\therefore$ Required ratio $=50: 24$

$=25: 12$
