Give answer (1) if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (2) if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (3) if the data in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
Give answer (4) if the data in both the statements I and II are not sufficient to answer the question.

- What is the perimeter of the rectangle?
I. The area of the rectangle is 252 sq. mts.
II. The ratio of length to breadth of the rectangle is $9: 7$ respectively.

Solution: 10. (5) From statements I and II, If the length of rectangle be $9 x$ metre and its breadth be $7 x$ metre, then
$9 x \times 7 x=252$
$\Rightarrow x^{2}=\frac{252}{9 \times 7}=4$
$\therefore \quad x=\sqrt{4}=2$
$\therefore$ Perimeter of rectangle
$=2$ (length + breadth)
$=2(9 x+7 x)=32 x$
$=32 \times 2=64$ metre
