Solution: (1) Required difference

$=\frac{1}{2}[(30+16)%$ of $800-(18+

$24) %$ of 800 ]

$=\frac{1}{2}[800 \times 46 \%-800 \times 42 \%]$

$=\frac{1}{2} \times \frac{800 \times 4}{100}=16$
